The youth accused in the case of kidnapping of a minor girl in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, attempted suicide at the police station. The 19 -year -old youth was being questioned in the police station regarding the kidnapping case when he took this step. Superintendent of Police Omvir Singh told the news agency that a case of kidnapping of 15 -year -old Hindu girl was registered on Friday.
The SP said that on the basis of the complaint of the girl’s father, a case of kidnapping has been registered against the unknown accused. Singh said that on Saturday, the girl reached the police station with her mother and told the name of another 19 -year -old youth. He alleged that he had seduced him.
The SP said that on Sunday, the youth was called to the police station for questioning. After interrogation, he tried to commit suicide by sanding his throat with a sharp weapon in the police station premises. Policemen immediately admitted him to the district hospital for treatment. Additional Superintendent of Police Kripa Shankar said that orders have been given to investigate the incident and the investigation of the case has been handed over to Deputy Superintendent of Police Sadar Mohammad Usman.
