Former Indian spinner Dilip Doshi is no more, died in London at the age of 77 – Former India Spinner Dilip Doshi Dies AGED 77 NTCPBM

Former Indian left hand spin bowler Dilip Doshi is no more. He died of a heart attack in London on Monday. He was 77 years old.

Dilip Doshi played 33 Tests and 15 ODIs for India between 1979 and 1983. He took 114 wickets in Tests and 22 wickets in limited overs.

He is survived by his wife Kalindi, son Nayan (who played cricket for Surrey and Saurashtra), and daughter Visakha.

Dilip Doshi made his international debut in Chennai in the first Test of Australia’s visit to India, where he took 6 wickets for 103 runs in the first innings and a total of 8 wickets (167 runs) in the match.

Dilip Doshi is one of the 9 Indian cricketers who have taken the work of taking 5 or more wickets in the innings of his debut Test match.

He played first -class cricket for Saurashtra and Bengal in India and represented Nottinghamshire and Warvikshire in County Cricket in England. He took 898 wickets in first class cricket.
