A female leopard was found lying in a dead state on Saturday morning in village Kanianan of Kandhla police station area of Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh. According to the villagers, he immediately informed the forest department as soon as he saw the leopard dead under the Peepal tree in the farm of Neelu son Sultan living in the village.
According to the villagers, the leopard was trying to climb the tree when he was hit by the high tension line passing by, which led to his death on the spot. The leopard’s inquiry was scorched, which is being guessed that he lost his life only due to the current.
Female leopard dies due to current
As soon as the incident was reported, a large crowd of villagers gathered on the spot. Local farmer Monty said that two days ago, three leopards were seen in the same area, who were not attacking anyone till now and were escaping from humans.
Funeral performed in forest office
DFO Shamli Jagdev Singh informed that the leopard’s child died due to current. Post mortem of the body was done and Bisra has been sent to Bareilly for investigation. Further action will be taken only after the investigation report comes. The forest department has cremated the leopard child in the Shamli Forest Office.
