Explosives purchased from Amazon for attack on Pulwama and Gorakhnath temples, Payments from PayPal and VPN revealed – FATF Report Ecommerce Online Payment Terror Funding Exposed Delhi Lclar

The new report of FATF (Financial Action Task Force), an organization that monitors terror in the world, has revealed a big revelation. According to the report, terrorist organizations are now using e-commerce platforms and online payment services for buying and funding weapons.

FATF, referring to two major cases of India 2019 Pulwama attack and 2022 Gorakhnath temple attack, said that online platforms played an important role in these incidents.

Fatf’s big disclosure on terror funding

The report said that a terrorist ordered aluminum powder from Amazon, which increased the strength of the IED blast. At the same time, in the Gorakhnath attack, the accused made foreign transactions of about ₹ 6.7 lakh using PayPal and VPN, sent funds to ISIS supporters and hid the location.

FATF also said that the increasing use of Fintech and Digital Payments in the last 10 years has given terrorists cheap, fast and low traced way. Terrorists are now buying 3D printed weapons, chemicals and other equipment from e-commerce.

FATF has warned the member countries that they will have to keep strict monitoring on VPN, P2P payment and e-commerce activities, as they have now become a new way to raise resources for terrorists.
