Former international hockey player Bimal Lakra was found unconscious in the field on Monday. He has been admitted to Cureseta Hospital in Ranchi for treatment. Bimal’s ancestral village is in the tension of Simdega and he came to his village these days. Manoj Konbegi, vice president of Hockey Jharkhand and president of Simdega Hockey, told that he had gone to his farm in the village where he fainted.
The family took him to Kurdeg for first aid, from where he was referred to Simdega Sadar Hospital. His city was scanned in Simdega. A blood clot appeared in his head. He has been taken to Ranchi in consultation with doctors. He was admitted to Cureseta Hospital.
Please tell that Bimal Lakra used to play as midfielder in the national team. He was part of the silver medal winning team at the 2002 Asian Games. Lakra’s younger brother Birendra Lakra Senior and younger sister Asuanta Lakra has also represented India in field hockey.
