The Moodbidri police have recovered more than 50 pornographic videos from the mobile phone of Samiti Raj Dharegudde, co-convenor of South Kannada district of Hindu Jagran Vedike. In this case, the police have registered a separate FIR. These videos from Samit Raj’s phone also include a video of a politician from coastal Karnataka, which has given rise to widespread discussion and speculation.
Police said that these pornographic videos were found during a data extraction process from Samit’s phone, which was done after the approval of the court and senior officials. This investigation was related to a stone pelting case, in which the Samit Raj was arrested.
The police suspect that these videos may have been shared or broadcast, due to which a new FIR has been registered. The Moodbidri police is now detecting the source of these videos and is preparing to issue notice to the Samit Raj for further inquiries.
