The Kolkata Police has formed a 5 -member Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the supervision of ACP Pradeep Kumar Ghoshal to continue the investigation of the Law College gang rape case. On June 25, a case of gang rape was revealed with a first year student at a Law College camp in South Kolkata. A total of four people, including the main accused, have been arrested in this case so far. Apart from Monojat, the three other accused arrested include first year student of South Kolkata Law College, Jab Ahmed, second -year student Pramit Mukherjee and a security guard Pinaki Banerjee.
Meanwhile, the victim’s lawyer told in a conversation with today that before the rape of the student, she was molested in the union room located in the college campus. The accused dragged him from here to the security guard room and gang -raped her. The lawyer said that the arrested prime accused Monojit Mishra is very impressive due to his political association. The Trinamool Congress of Monojo College is the former president of the Congress Students’ Council Unit and is allegedly the organizational secretary of the South Kolkata Wing of TMC’s student organization.
