A major accident on the Lucknow-Prayagraj highway in the Mill Area police station area of Rae Bareli was averted when a heavy crane laden loader hit the footover bridge. The collision was so fast that an iron walking path was filled and fell on the road.
The incident took place in front of Gopal Saraswati Inter College ahead of Ratapur intersection, where an iron bridge was built for students and passers -by. At the time of the accident, there was no one on the bridge or below it, due to which a large loss of life was averted.

The local people immediately informed the police, after which the police reached the spot and removed the debris and made the traffic smooth. The police have captured the loader caused by the accident and the driver is being questioned.
According to eyewitnesses, the loader had heavy crane loaded and he collided with the bridge due to its height. As soon as the collision occurred, the bridge fell with a loud voice, causing chaos on the highway for some time.
