The Medium gameplay walkthrough part 1 – In the vane of all such games, The Medium takes the players to a world which they could feel as creepy and spine chilling as anyone could think of; the protagonist named Marianne is a gifted medium who could move from one plane to another – physical as well as the spirit realm. The introductory sequence gets players directly into the spirit of the psychological horror and provides them with the complex and tangled story of light and shadow throughout the game.

Like in many other games, to start with, Marianne is in a snowy environment where you have to help her get through a derelict lodge. High tension becomes addable due to the use of a beautiful655 graphic and unexpected music. The first part is designed to introduces you to movement and combat schemes, as well as gradually reveal the bygones of Marianne’s character.

The struggle intensifies as you solve the puzzle and we have a feeling that there is more to the story that hasn’t been explained. This is where The Medium excels being both a story-driven experience and quite enjoyable to play. Familiar feelings of horror are present, and the music chooses the perfect set-up for those feelings, making the players, as well, more involved in the story.

The First Encounter

After the first puzzle, players will face their first frightening spirit to the game 50 minutes after the beginning. This moment is very important as it show the whole concept of horror in the game. The horror is not so much jump scare based, and more based on the setting and the build up of the characters’ personality.

Conquering this meeting explains the stealth game mechanics. You need to get adept at moving around the world closely, switching between one and the other to remain undetected. This mechanic layers on quite a bit of strategy, making a player really have to think on how he will tackle each particular scenario.
